Midwest Bancard announces spin off of its ATM business - 1/10/2003
CHICAGO (January 10, 2003) -
Midwest Bancard Corporation®, a Chicago-based manufacturer of ATMs, announces the spin off of its ATM business, which includes the ATM manufacturing and processing divisions. The new company is QUALTEX™. QUALTEX™ will launch the company’s second-generation, self-supporting, compact, through-the-wall cash dispenser under the name WeatherMaster™.
The WeatherMaster™ looks and operates like a standard bank cash dispenser but is specially designed to function outdoors and will withstand extreme weather conditions. The WeatherMaster™ is also fully rear-accessible, featuring a revolutionary rear screen and keypad for accessing management functions and a rear slide out tray for the dispenser and printer.
The WeatherMaster™ offers a unique design. The WeatherMaster™ cabinet is cast in solid stainless steel. Its compact size, measuring 19.5” in total width, and its dual-bracket mounting system, allow for ease of installation in a small wall space. The WeatherMaster™ features the highest quality, state-of-the-art components, including the De La Rue MiniMech Dispenser, Fujitsu 80 MM Thermal Graphic Printer, Lagard Electronic Lock, and Kyocera Color Weatherized Anti-Glare Liquid Crystal Display (LCD).
The WeatherMaster™ was recently chosen by Saturday Night Live (“SNL”) to be featured in a sketch with host Eric McCormack of the NBC sitcom, Will & Grace. The sketch was set in a fictional bank ATM vestibule.
